Many of us dream about emigrating to lands far away, maybe to a warmer climate and a place where we don"t have to work so hard for everything and a place where we can spend more time with the family and appreciate what life is really supposed to be like. More and more of us are contemplating the thought and apart from those that actually bite the bullet and do it, for most of us it has at least crossed our minds. Maybe on a dreary afternoon, staring out of the window whilst wondering what it might be like to have an easier more enjoyable slow paced life. В Lapland probably wouldn"t be one of those countries you would contemplate if the climate was top of the list of priorities. Winter lasts for over 200 days and the harsh weather is really what Lapland is all about. Tourism is a huge chunk of their income and when the snow comes, so do lots of Santa seeking families, ready for some skiing and winter sports. Yllas Lapland is a very small village with only about 400 locals and it really is a truly magical place, В not just for a holiday but for really contemplating spending some considerable time there. Yllas is the most uncommercialised of all the resorts and still manages to hold on to that Santa Magic without it feeling like it is fake. В В The huge restaurant you use for all of your food and essentials is the same restaurant the locals use. The cross country ski trails you have so much fun on are used by the locals, in fact Yllas is a place you can taste and breath the culture and it"s a joy to be able to really take that in and appreciate on your holiday. There are opportunities for growth and business over there too. Like the rest of the country Finland are struggling with the current economic climate but are holding their own and if anything now is a good time to set up a prosperous renting business. Properties are rising and Lapland is still an extremely popular holiday destination and is set to become even busier in the next five years. You could also become a ski instructor, the slopes in Yllas are brilliant for a small resort. Over the past couple of yearsВ  lots of time and resources have been spent on the slopes making them some of the best in Finland. Yllas is really beautiful and if I could wish one thing, it would be that it never loses it"s magic and old fashioned style that make it the special little resort that it is.
